    Which Basil II?

    Basilisk II is an open source Macintosh 68k emulator. that is, it allows publicly run macOS 68k software on a computer, even if you have it stand-alone operating system. However, you still need a copy of macOS and therefore use the Macintosh ROM image in the Basilisk II. Basilisk II is expected to be sold under terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).

    • Emulates either a Mac Classic (running macOS 0.x from 7.5) or a Mac II TV show (running macOS 7.x, 8.0 in addition to 8.1), depending on which ROM is being usedb.
